El maravilloso viaje de Tobi a Vietnam

Xin chao at everone,
To begin, the project is really cool, it is situated at the edge of the national park of Cuc Phuong. We have 42 monkey of nearly all sizes and it’s great to watch them. Unfortunately we have nearly no internet access and burnouts at least every two or three days.

Actually I don’t live in the center, I live in a small village next to it, where our manager owns a small guesthouse.
So I got one room with my own bath and AIRCON (if there is electricity), it’s incredible what a difference it makes to have an aircon.
When you come home totally sweatly (even after the 10min ride to the center I arrive completely wet) and you can breathe cool and, most important, dry air, that’s an amazing feeling.
Another biiig advantage is that there are a lot less mosquitos, I haven’t counted yet, but I’ve got at least 40 mosquito bites on my legs, imagine how much it would be without aircon ;)

Anyway it’s a nice place here and Tilo, our manager, makes it as comfortable for everyone as it could be. He lives here with his vietnamese wife and two little children in a house inside the center.
The two german animal keeper Jakob and Falk also live in the center, so I spent most of my leisure time there. Tilos house has an awesome terrace and if you manage it not to get eaten by the mosquitos, it’s great to sit there in the evening.

Working hours here are a bit irksome coz we do have here a 7 work-days. So I have to work every day from 8 till 16:45h (actually the vietnamese and the keeper start at 6:30 and have their breakfast from 8:00 till 9:00, but I refused to start so early ;))
So after we finish at 17:00, we have a coffee or a tea at Tilos house and after that normally at 19:00 dinner, that’s it. That’s my day. After dinner I try to learn some further vietnamese or read a bit and then already go to bed. What a difference to Spain!

Communication with the vietnamese is really difficult because very few speak English (and my Vietnamese is also barely existent), so it normally ends up gesturing with hands and feet.

Now and then I miss the good old Erasmus life in Almeria and all the great parties with the evil three I’m missing in Veracruz ;)

I am really looking forward to the arrival of Julien, hopefully I can take some time off and we can travel a bit together. I’d like to see the famous Ha Long bay and it’s a lot nicer to go there with some friends rather than going alone.

San Juan in San José was just great because we had a barbeque de puta madre, relaxed, drunk and enjoyed the bonfires. We needed to lay back a bit after the terrific party on Friday.
Actually I haven't managed it to arrive totally drunk at the botellón till that day (Claudia I'm so sorry about what I did to your ass :D)
On Tuesday Christoph and I we had our farewell party. Okay it was as good as a party could be on a Tuesday while the exams, but there are some cool pics of drunken guys ;)

Yesterday I arrived back in Düsseldorf and I nearly refused to leave the airplane when the pilot annouced that we have just 15°C outside.
That's as much as we had in Almería in WINTER...

Today I had the pleasure to see again the ugliest university in the whole wide world, my Ruhr-University. A horrible combination, bad weather and the shabby concrete of the RUB. But I already have done everthing I had to handle, so I won't have to come back till October.
